FAVORITE RED JELLO SALAD (Applesauce Jello, Cinnamon Applesauce Salad) 1 (3 oz.) pkg. any flavor red Jell-O 1 c. boiling water 1/2 c. cinnamon candies or red hot candies (optional) 1 to 1 1/2 c. applesauce 1/2 c. chopped nuts and 1/2 c. chopped celery (optional) 1 small pkg. frozen strawberries (optional) Dissolve Jell-O in water. Add candies (if they're desired) and stir until melted. Remove any that won't melt. Add applesauce and stir. Add any other desired ingredients. Chill until set. This works well in a mold. If using strawberries, add them before the applesauce, stirring until they're melted; then add applesauce and chill until firm. Makes 8 servings.
