CHOCOLATE CHIP OATMEAL COOKIES 1 c. water 1 c. shortening 1/2 c. white sugar 2 c. oatmeal 1 tsp. soda 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. cloves 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. raisins 1/2 c. brown sugar 3 eggs 2 c. flour 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 pkg. chocolate chips Simmer raisins in water for 10 minutes. Drain and save water. Cream shortening and sugars; add eggs and beat well. Add water from raisins and remaining ingredients. Drop by spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes.
