4 c. sugar
1 pinch salt (very small)
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
4 Tbsp. cocoa
4 c. cream
Stir all together very well and cook slowly to a soft
ball. Add a tablespoon vanilla and cool to lukewarm, then
beat. It thickens and will be shiny. Turn out and cut in
squares (use butter pan). Takes long time to cook, but is
better than when hurried.
