SESAME STREET CLAY

...no this is not edible, yet provides a wonderful
activity even for older children.

1 1/2 c. salt
3 c. flour
1 1/2 Tbsp. powdered alum or
cream of tartar
3 c. boiling water
food coloring
2 Tbsp. salad oil
Mix together dry ingredients. Add boiling water and
food coloring; stir to combine. Add oil and knead until
smooth. Store in covered container. This will keep for up to
a month, depending on the amount of use. Stored in the refrig-
erator, it will keep indefinitely.

rolling pins (a short length
of 1 inch or larger
diameter doweling is super
for small hands)
cookie cutters
meatball press
French fry cutters
melon ballers
pasta cutters
