1 c. margarine
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 beaten eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. soda
2 Tbsp. water
1 tsp. salt
2 1/2 c. flour
1 c. pecans (optional)
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate

Cream margarine and sugar until fluffy; beat in eggs and
vanilla. Dissolve soda in water; add to creamed mixture. Add
salt; stir in flour until well blended. Add pecans and choco-
late chips. Drop from teaspoon on greased cookie sheet. Bake
for 10 to 15 minutes at 375 degrees. Yields 5 dozen.
