CANDY CANE-CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

1 c. butter or margarine
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
5 Tbsp. hot water
2 c. chocolate chips
1/2 c. finely ground candy
canes

Cream together butter, sugars and vanilla. Add eggs and
beat. Stir flour, baking soda and salt together and add to
first mixture and mix well. Add hot water and beat until
smooth. Add chocolate chips and candy canes and mix well.
Drop by spoon onto cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for about 10 to
12 minutes. Remove immediately after baking.
Great to use after Christmas with all extra candy canes.
