SALT SCULPTURE DOUGH 2 c. plain flour 1 c. salt 1 c. water Combine flour and salt in a large, flat-bottomed bowl, and mix well with spoon. Add water gradually, forming a smooth dough. If dough is too sticky, add flour. Knead 7 to 10 minutes. Keep dough in plastic bag when not using. Roll out dough. Cut shapes with cookie cutters. Place on foil-covered cookie sheet and put in 325 degrees to 350 degrees oven. Bake 1/2 hour for each 1/4-inch thickness. If sculptures puff up, reduce oven by 50 to 75 degrees and poke pieces with pin to release air. Paint after cooled, if desired. Varnish or shellac both sides to protect from moisture or humidity.
