2 tsp. salad oil
1 medium onion, diced
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 c. white vinegar
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
4 tsp. chili powder
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. dry mustard

In 1 quart saucepan over medium heat in hot salad oil,
cook onion until tender (about 5 minutes), stirring occasional-
ly. Add remaining ingredients; heat to boiling, stirring
constantly. Use to baste spareribs, beef or lamb during
grilling. Serve remainder with meat.
