8 medium potatoes, peeled and
2 medium onions, grated
3 slices bread
1 Tbsp. sage
salt to taste
pepper to taste
1/3 c. chicken fat, melted
Moisten bread with water and mix with all ingredients.
Bake in a 2-quart casserole dish greased with chicken fat.
Pour remaining chicken fat over mixture. Bake at 350 degrees until
brown, about 1 1/2 hours. Serve with baked or broiled chicken
as a side dish.
