HARRIET'S CHILI RECIPE 1 large (46 oz.) can tomato juice 2 lb. ground chuck or ground beef 3 (1 lb.) cans dark red kidney beans 1 large onion, finely chopped 2 large or 3 small green peppers 2 pkg. French's Chili-O season mix margarine for sauteing tomatoes (optional) Use crock-pot for this because it's easier, but it works fine in any large pot, it just requires more stirring. In skillet heat margarine, saute onion and green peppers, drain off excess oil, put vegetables in chili pot. Use skillet without washing it to brown ground beef, drain and add to pot. Add tomatoes if desired. Drain and rinse kidney beans and add to pot. Add tomato juice and stir. Add season- ing mix and cook over medium heat about 1 hour until it cooks down.
