SPLIT PEA SOUP|
ham cut off bone
10 c. water
1 lb. pkg. split peas
3 stalks celery
1 onion, diced
1 carrots, diced
1/2 tsp. pepper
Rinse peas about 3 times and drain. Combine peas, ham
bone (with meat cut off) in water; bring to a boil. Reduce
heat and simmer 1 hour. Add ham pieces, celery, onion, carrot
and pepper. Cook another 1 1/2 hours. Add extra water if
needed. Top off with hunk of butter when done.
