ORIGINAL CONEY ISLAND SAUCE

1 Tbsp. shortening
1 Tbsp. butter
2 medium minced onions
1 1/2 lb. ground beef
2 Tbsp. chili powder
1 Tbsp. prepared mustard
1 (6 oz.) can tomato sauce or
6 oz. ketchup
6 oz. can water
4 or 5 ground hot dogs
salt and pepper to taste

Melt shortening and butter in large skillet. Add ground
beef and onions. Brown thoroughly. Add rest of ingredients.
Simmer until thick. Leftover sauce may be frozen.
