HAMBURGER VEGETABLE CHOWDER|
2 Tbsp. oil
1 lb. ground beef
1 c. canned tomatoes
1/2 c. carrots, diced
1/2 c. celery, diced
1 onion, chopped
2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. barley
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 c. water
1 c. potatoes, diced
In heavy pot, brown meat in oil. Pour off excess oil.
Add tomatoes, carrots, celery, onion, salt, barley, pepper,
water and potatoes. Cover and cook 30 minutes or until vegeta-
bles are well cooked. Serves 4 or 5.
