GRANDMA BAUMGART'S GERMAN CUCUMBER SALAD 2 medium cucumbers 1/2 tsp. salt 1 medium onion, sliced very thin 1/2 pt. sour cream 3 Tbsp. sugar 2 Tbsp. vinegar Peel, cut off bitter ends and slice cucumbers very thin. Sprinkle with salt; cover with ice or cold water for 30 min- utes. Drain cucumbers by squeezing well with both hands and add onions and cream mixture. If you like it sweeter, add more sugar.
