HAMBURG SOUP 2 lb. hamburg (or ground round) 5 3/4 c. tomato juice 1 c. stewed tomatoes 2 tsp. oregano 2 Tbsp. onion 1 c. mushrooms 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 1 Tbsp. garlic powder 2 c. chopped celery 1 c. sliced carrots 2 c. cabbage 2 c. French-style green beans In large kettle brown beef and drain well. Combine ingredients and simmer 2 hours. You can use fresh ground turkey, if you can get it at your market, instead of the beef. Optional: 2 teaspoons basil and 1 bay leaf.
