OXTAIL SOUP

2 to 3 lb. small oxtails
1 small box frozen cut okra
1 bag frozen mixed vegetables
1 medium onion, chopped
3 medium potatoes, cubed
1 small can tomato sauce
1 small can tomato paste
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
salt and pepper to taste

In a 3 quart pot, place washed oxtails and cover with
water. Cook until almost tender (you may need to add addition-
al water while cooking). Add vegetables, garlic powder, tomato
paste and sauce. Season to taste, then simmer until oxtails
and vegetables are tender, approximately 30 to 45 minutes.
Serve with hot corn bread. Good eating!
