NO TOSSED SALAD

1 medium-sized romaine
lettuce, broken into pieces
1/4 c. fine chopped green
onions
1/4 c. fine chopped celery
1 can water chestnuts, sliced,
or fresh chestnuts
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas
(do not thaw)
2 c. Miracle Whip or other
good salad dressing
1 Tbsp. sugar
3/4 lb. bacon, fried and
crumbled
3 or 4 hard-boiled eggs
3 or more sliced tomatoes
Parmesan Romano cheese, grated

Place lettuce in large shallow serving dish or bowl.
Sprinkle green onions, celery and water chestnuts on top in
layers. Break peas apart and sprinkle on top while frozen.
Spread mayonnaise over top like frosting. Sprinkle with the
sugar. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Before serving, add
layers of bacon, sliced eggs and also tomatoes. Sprinkle with
grated cheese.
