FRENCH ONION SOUP

3 c. sliced onions (Spanish or
big white)
2 Tbsp. butter
2 cans Campbell's beef broth
1 1/2 c. water
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
French bread, toasted
soft cheese, grated (Gruyere,
Muenster, etc.)

In a covered pan, cook onion in butter over low heat for
30 minutes. Add beef broth, water and Worcestershire sauce.
Heat to boiling, reduce heat and simmer for 1/2 hour. Place
toasted bread in dish, cover with cheese and pour soup over.
Makes four servings.
