BACON LAYERED SALAD 3 c. shredded lettuce 2 medium summer squash (1/4-inch slices) 1 small red onion, sliced 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas and carrots, thawed 1 (8 oz.) can water chestnuts, drained 1 medium bell pepper, cut in strips 1 c. celery, 1/4-inch slices 1 c. mayonnaise 1/2 c. sour cream 1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese 1/4 tsp. garlic powder 1 c. bacon (10 to 12 slices), cooked and crumbled Layer lettuce, squash, onion, peas and carrots, water chestnuts, pepper and celery in a 3 quart salad bowl. Combine mayonnaise, sour cream, Parmesan cheese and garlic powder. Spread over salad. Sprinkle bacon over dressing. Cover and chill. Serves 8 to 10.
