COLESLAW

3 lb. cabbage, shredded
1 green bell pepper, chopped
2 medium onions, chopped
1 c. carrots, shredded
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. vinegar
3/4 c. oil
1 tsp. celery seed
1 tsp. mustard seed
1 Tbsp. salt
1 tsp. turmeric (optional)

Mix together cabbage, bell pepper, onions, carrots and
sugar. Set aside in a small pan. Mix other ingredients and
bring to boil. Cool slightly. Pour over cabbage mixture.
Stir well. Makes enough for 1/2 gallon. Keeps well in refrig-
erator for 3 or 4 weeks.
