GAYLE'S SPAGHETTI SAUCE

4 medium onions, chopped
3 small garlic cloves
3 Tbsp. salad oil
4 (29 oz.) cans tomatoes
4 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
1 lb. sliced mushrooms
1 c. chopped parsley
3 Tbsp. sugar
3 Tbsp. salt or less
4 tsp. oregano
2 bay leaves

In large kettle, saute in oil the onions and garlic.
Remove garlic; add remaining ingredients. Cover; cook 2 hours.
Discard bay leaves. Makes 1 gallon sauce. Freezes well. A
Sajovic family recipe favorite.
