MOM'S SPAGHETTI SAUCE 2 1/2 lb. ground meat* 1 onion, chopped fine 1 clove garlic, minced or 1/8 tsp. powder 1 clove garlic (on a toothpick) 1 large can (1 lb. 12 oz.) tomatoes, whole or pieces 2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce 3 c. water 2 or 3 beef bouillon cubes 1 tsp. salt or more to taste 1/4 tsp. pepper or more to taste 1/2 tsp. m.s.g. or more to taste 1 tsp. oregano 1 tsp. Italian seasoning 1 bay leaf *I prefer 1 pound hamburger, 1 pound ground veal and 1/2 pound ground pork. Brown ground meat and drain. Add chopped onion and garlic and continue browning. Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer for 1 to 2 hours. Remove bay leaf and garlic on toothpick before serving. (This freezes well. It will make at least 3 meals for a family of 4.)
