SWEET AND SOUR COLE SLAW

1 medium head cabbage
1 medium onion
1 medium green pepper
1 c. sugar
1 or 2 Tbsp. salt
1/4 c. cooking oil
1/2 c. vinegar
2 Tbsp. sugar

Shred cabbage, onion and green pepper. Put cup sugar
and salt over and mix well. Set aside. Heat oil, vinegar and
2 tablespoons sugar; bring to boil, pour over cabbage mixture;
mix well. Store in airtight container in refrigerator for 24
hours before serving. Pour off part of liquid when serving,
keep liquid to put back on what's leftover and it keeps for
days. You can put more vinegar or less sugar if you like it
sour.
