BEEF STRIPS WITH MUSHROOM SAUCE

2 1/2 lb. shaved steak or
sirloin tips
1/4 lb. fresh mushrooms
1/8 tsp. pepper
3/4 tsp. onion powder
1 c. beef stock
1/2 c. water
1/4 c. cornstarch
1/2 c. water
1 c. sliced green or/and red
peppers (optional)

Brown meat in hot oven about 30 minutes, stirring
frequently. When brown, drain and cut, if needed. Sprinkle
meat with pepper and onion powder and cover with sliced mush-
rooms. Add beef stock and 1/2 cup water to meat. Reduce heat
to 350 degrees, cover and cook until done, about 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Add 1/2 cup water to cornstarch, blend and add to meat and
broth mixture. Stir and cook until thickened. Serve with
rice.
