SPLIT PEA SOUP|
1 (8 oz.) pkg. split peas,
1 1/2 lb. ham hocks
9 c. hot water
2 cloves chopped garlic
1 chopped onion
2 chopped celery stalks
1 carrot, sliced
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 tsp. salt
2 bay leaves
1 tsp. basil
Combine all ingredients. Cook over low heat, stirring
occasionally, about 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
