AUNT BECKY'S LAYER SALAD 1 head lettuce, shredded and chopped 1/2 c. red onion 1/2 c. celery 1/2 c. green pepper 1 pkg. frozen peas, cooked and drained 1 pt. good mayonnaise 1 Tbsp. sugar 3/4 c. grated sharp cheese crumbled bacon (6 to 8 slices) Layer all ingredients in bowl as listed: lettuce, red onion, celery, pepper and peas. Cover with mayonnaise and seal all edges. Sprinkle with sugar, cheese and bacon. Cover and refrigerate for 24 hours. Toss and serve.
