ONION SOUP

4 large onions, chopped
1/2 stick margarine
2 Tbsp. flour
2 cans beef consomme
2 cans cream of chicken soup
1 can water
1 bay leaf

Saute chopped onions in margarine. Add flour; stir and
cook 5 minutes. Add beef consomme, water and bay leaf; simmer
30 minutes. Add soup, salt and pepper to taste. Simmer for
awhile. You may strain this before adding the cream of chicken
soup if you don't want the chopped onions in the soup.
