2 lb. ground beef
4 Tbsp. shortening
1 c. chopped onion
1/2 tsp. minced garlic
2 qt. tomatoes
2 cans tomato paste
2 cans tomato sauce
2 or 3 bay leaves
4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp. chili powder
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. pepper

Brown the ground beef. In a small kettle saute the
chopped onions in the shortening. Drain the onions. Combine
the onions and ground beef and mix all the ingredients together
in a big kettle. Cook on low for 1 1/2 hours. Stir often.
Can be used for hot dog sauce also.
