MINESTRONE SOUP

46 oz. tomato juice
1 can Hunt's sauce
3 or more carrots, cut up
2 or more stalks celery, cut
up
pinch of basil
salt and pepper
2 c. water
1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1 onion
cabbage
rice
rosamarina
chili powder
red kidney beans

Brown ground beef with onion, then add tomato juice,
Hunt's sauce, carrots, celery, basil, salt, pepper and water.
Cook 45 minutes covered. Add one cup shredded cabbage, 30
minutes; 1/3 cup rice, 10 minutes; 1/3 cup rosamarina, 15
minutes; 1 tablespoon chili powder; one can kidney beans plus
juice. Simmer a few minutes. Add more water if necessary.
Keep covered! Serve with Italian bread.
