GRANDMA JOOBIE'S FRUIT SALAD

2 sliced bananas
1 small can chunk pineapple
(save juice)
1 small can Mandarin oranges,
drained
1 c. seedless grapes, cut in
half

Sauce:
1/2 c. pineapple juice
2 tsp. lemon juice
4 tsp. sugar
2 tsp. cornstarch
dash of red pepper (is
important!)

Combine and cook sauce ingredients over low heat until
thick. Add small amount of mixture to one beaten egg, then mix
into remaining sauce. Cook only until thick. Remove from heat
and add 2 teaspoons butter. Pour mixture over fruit while hot.
Refrigerate overnight or at least 4 hours.
Hint: Add bananas immediately before serving so they
won't turn brown.
