7 LAYER SALAD
1 large head lettuce, shredded
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. chopped celery
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas
1 (8 oz.) can sliced water
Put all ingredients in the order listed in a 13 x 9-inch
pan: lettuce, onion, celery, peas and water chestnuts. Mix 2
cups mayonnaise with 1 tablespoon sugar and spread over layered
ingredients. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Top with the
following when ready to serve:
6 sliced, cooked eggs
2 large tomatoes, diced
1/2 c. crisp bacon or bacon
