1 1/2 lb. mild sausage
8 to 9 slices bread
1 tsp. prepared yellow mustard
6 eggs, slightly beaten
6 oz. Swiss cheese
1 2/3 c. milk
3/4 c. + 2 Tbsp. evaporated
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
dash of pepper and nutmeg
Brown the meat, drain well and add spices. Trim crust
from bread, place on bottom of 9 x 13-inch pan and add the
meat. Mix eggs, milk and cheese. Pour over bread and meat.
Must make 1 or 2 days ahead of time. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 45
minutes until top is browned.
This is a great Christmas morning breakfast because you
can make it the day before, let it bake while you enjoy opening
presents. Serve a bowl of canned or fresh fruit. Also great
for brunch or luncheon.
