GRANDMA'S CASSEROLE 1 c. chopped onion 1 bell pepper, cut in strips 2 Tbsp. margarine 1 1/2 lb. ground beef 1 tsp. seasoned salt 1 tsp. m.s.g. 1/2 tsp. pepper 1 tsp. sugar 1 qt. tomato juice or 1 can whole tomatoes (1 lb. 12 oz. size, drained) 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce 2 c. water 1 (8 oz.) pkg. uncooked, dry wide noodles Saute onion and bell pepper in margarine for 3 minutes. Brown beef and break up. Add onion and pepper, seasoned salt, m.s.g., pepper and sugar. Stir in tomato juice or whole tomatoes, tomato sauce and water. Heat this mixture of beef, sauces, water, etc. to boiling. Reduce and simmer 15 minutes. In a 12 x 9-inch pan, layer mixture, then noodles, then remaining mixture. Make sure noodles are spread evenly in pan and completely cover with sauce and meat mixture. Top with Mozzarella cheese, sliced or grated. Cover with foil. Let casserole stand at least 30 minutes before baking. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Cut and serve like lasagna.
