MEAT AND POTATO PIE

3/4 lb. lean ground meat
1/3 c. chopped fresh onions
1/3 c. chopped green peppers
2 Tbsp. chopped parsley
1 small tomato, chopped
1/8 tsp. hot pepper sauce
1 1/2 tsp. salt, divided
1/4 tsp. pepper
4 medium potatoes
1 c. shredded cheese (Swiss or
American, 4 oz.)

Mix ground meat, onion, peppers, parsley, tomatoes,
pepper sauce, 1 teaspoon salt and pepper in bowl and mix well.
Pat half of mixture in bottom of baking pan. Peel potatoes,
cut in 1/3-inch slices. Arrange 1/2 of slices over meat
mixture. Sprinkle with 1/8 teaspoon salt and 1/2 of cheese.
Repeat with meat, potatoes, salt and cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for
50 minutes. If necessary, cover with foil last 15 minutes to
prevent cheese from browning too much. Serves 4 to 6.
