SPICY CHOPS AND CABBAGE 4 loin pork chops 2 Tbsp. water 1/2 tsp. salt 2 whole cloves 1/2 small bay leaf 1 medium head cabbage, shredded (8 c.) 1/4 c. chopped onion 1/4 c. sugar 1 1/2 tsp. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 2 Tbsp. water 2 Tbsp. vinegar 1 1/2 c. diced tart apple Cook chops until browned. Add water, salt, cloves and bay leave. Cover and simmer 30 minutes. Remove chops, discard cloves and bay leaf. Add cabbage, apple and onion to skillet. Combine sugar, flour and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Stir in vinegar and 2 tablespoons water. Pour over cabbage, stirring to mix. Return chops, cover and cook 20 minutes longer or until chops and cabbage are done.
