WHEAT CASSEROLE

2 c. cooked wheat*
1 (10 oz.) can cream of
mushroom soup
1/2 c. sour cream
1 Tbsp. instant minced onion
4 oz. American cheese, cubed
2 oz. pimiento, drained and
sliced
1 tsp. bergamot or fine herbs
pepper to taste
potato chips, crushed

Combine all ingredients except potato chips in a greased
casserole. When mixture is bubbly, thick and browning (about 1
hour at 350 degrees), stir and then add potato chips. Bake 10 minutes
longer.
*To cook wheat: Wash and add to a large amount of
boiling water. Cook until soft, but still chewy. One cup of
dry wheat will make 2 cups when cooked. This can be mixed
ahead and baked at the last minute.
