CLARA'S MEAT IN A LOAF|
1 loaf French bread, unsliced
1 medium chopped onion
1 can Cheddar cheese soup
1 1/2 or 2 lb. hamburger
1 can tomato soup
salt and pepper
chili powder (optional)
Real simple and quick. I usually have a green salad or
a vegetable and a simple dessert with it. Cut bread in half
lengthwise; carefully scoop out inside and break into pieces.
Combine hamburger and onion in frypan; cook until meat is
browned. Drain grease. Stir soups and bread pieces into meat
mixture. Season to taste with salt, pepper and chili powder.
Spoon meat mixture into bottom half of bread shell; cover with
top half of bread shell. Wrap loaf in aluminum foil; bake at
350 degrees for 30 to 45 minutes. To serve, cut in diagonal slices.
