HOMEMADE CHILI

2 lb. ground chuck
1 green pepper
1 onion
1 pkg. dry chili mix
1 pkg. Sloppy Joe mix
1 large can tomato paste
1 1/2 Tbsp. chili powder
1/4 tsp. Texas Pete
1 Tbsp. oil

Chop onion and green pepper finely. Saute in 1 table-
spoon oil (set aside). In a skillet, scramble 2 pounds of
meat. Scramble up meat well, stirring to keep from lumping.
Then add onions and peppers to meat. Add 1 package chili mix,
1 package Sloppy Joe mix, 1 large can tomato paste and 1 can
water. Add 1 1/2 tablespoon of dry chili powder and 1/4
teaspoon Texas Pete. Add all to a crock-pot. Cover and cook
for 1 hour or all day. Be sure enough water comes to top of
pot.
