CORNBREAD BEEF PIE

1/2 c. chopped onions
1 lb. ground beef
2 Tbsp. cooking oil
salt and pepper to taste
1 (4 oz.) can mushroom pieces
(do not drain)
1 (10 1/2 oz.) can tomato soup
plus 1/2 can milk

Cook onions until transparent in the oil. Add ground
beef and cook until brown. Add salt, pepper, mushroom pieces,
tomato soup and milk. Pour into a 2 quart casserole.

Topping:
3/4 c. self-rising corn meal
1/2 c. self-rising flour
1 tsp. caraway seed
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
3 Tbsp. oil
Mix well and drop on top of first mixture. Bake at 425 degrees
for 25 minutes.
