MARTHA'S COMPANY CASSEROLE 1/2 lb. noodles (4 c.) 1 1/2 lb. ground chuck 1/2 lb. cottage cheese 1/4 c. commercial sour cream 1/3 c. chopped onion 1 Tbsp. margarine 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened 1 tsp. minced green pepper (optional) 2 tsp. melted margarine 1 tsp. salt Heat oven to 375 degrees. Cook noodles as directed and drain. Place 1 tablespoon of margarine in skillet and saute beef until brown. Stir in tomato sauce. Remove from heat. Combine cottage cheese, cream cheese, onion, pepper and sour cream. Add to meat mixture. In a greased 2 quart casserole, spread 1/2 of noodles. Pour melted margarine over noodles and then add a layer of meat mixture. Alternate with noodles and meat mixture. Bake, uncovered, for 30 minutes. This is a good recipe to take out as it can be made ahead and put in refrigerator. Increase baking time to 45 minutes if casserole has been refrigerated.
