1 lb. fresh chestnuts, chopped
1/2 c. butter or margarine
1 large onion, chopped (1 c.)
1 large apple, grated
2 c. water
2 pkg. (8 oz. each)
Saute onions and butter. Stir in apple and chestnuts.
Add water. Heat to a boil. Add stuffing mix.
*To shell chestnuts slit each shell. Place in baking
sheet or pan. Bake at high heat for about 15 minutes (shells
