SAUSAGE BREAKFAST CASSEROLE

1 lb. regular sausage (Jimmy
Dean)
6 slices white bread, crust
removed
1 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar
cheese
5 eggs, well beaten
2 c. half and half cream
1 tsp. dry mustard

Cook sausage over medium heat until done. Stir until
crumbled. Drain and set aside. Spread bread with butter and
cut or tear into bite-size pieces. Place bread in 13 x 9 x
2-inch buttered casserole. Spread sausage on top of bread and
cheese over sausage. Combine cream, mustard and well beaten
eggs. Pour over mixture and chill at least 8 hours. Remove
from refrigerator to room temperature, a few minutes. Bake at
300 degrees for 30 minutes. Serve with muffins or toast.
