BEEF-ONION CASSEROLE

4 oz. elbow macaroni
1 clove garlic
1 lb. ground beef
10 1/2 oz. can onion soup
3/4 tsp. salt
dash of pepper
1/2 c. shredded process
American cheese
3 slices bread, crumbled
3 Tbsp. melted butter or
margarine

Cook macaroni in boiling salted water until tender.
Drain. Meanwhile, brown garlic and beef lightly in skillet,
stirring with fork. Add soup, salt and pepper. Mix well. Add
macaroni and pour into 1 quart casserole or shallow baking
dish. Sprinkle with cheese. Combine crumbs and butter and
sprinkle on top. Bake in moderate 350 degrees oven about 15 minutes.
