AUTUMN SAUSAGE CASSEROLE 1 lb. pork sausage (mild or hot, according to preference) 2 medium-size sweet potatoes 3 medium size apples 1/2 tsp. salt 1 Tbsp. flour 2 Tbsp. granulated sugar 1/2 c. cold water 1 Tbsp. sausage drippings Fry sausage until well done. Pare and slice apples and potatoes. Mix salt, flour and sugar together and blend with cold water. Arrange layers of potatoes, apples and sausage in a baking dish. Pour some of the flour and sugar mixture over each layer. Top the dish with apples and sausage and add drippings. Cover and bake in a 375 degrees oven until potatoes and apples are tender, about 45 minutes. Yield: 4 servings.
