MOCK CHOP SUEY

1 to 1 1/2 lb. round steak
1 large onion, cut up
1 tsp. paprika
2 c. uncooked rice
1 1/2 c. carrots, cut up
1 1/2 c. celery, cut up
3/4 Tbsp. soy sauce
1 Tbsp. salt
1 Tbsp. pepper
1/2 cube butter

Cut steak into small cubes. Coat steak in flour and
paprika. Lightly sear in hot fat to brown nicely, adding
onions. Remove from heat and add uncooked rinsed rice, cut up
carrots and celery. Into saucepan, put 4 1/2 cups water and 2
beef bouillon cubes. Heat to dissolve cubes. Add soy sauce,
salt, pepper and butter. Pour over meat mixture. Stir. Bake
1 1/2 to 2 hours at 350 degrees to 375 degrees.
