SHEPHERD'S GOULASH 1 1/2 lb. chuck roast, cubed 1/2 lb. onions, sliced 1 Tbsp. paprika 1/2 tsp. caraway seed 1 clove garlic 1 Tbsp. salt 16 oz. sauerkraut 1 c. white wine 1/2 c. rice 1/2 c. water 1/2 c. sour cream In slow cooker, cover bottom with sliced onions. Put all the spices on top of onions. Follow with cubed meat and with sauerkraut. Pour wine over all and cook on high for 1 1/2 hours. Remove lid; sprinkle rice on top. Pour boiling 1/2 cup water on top. Cover with lid and cook another hour. Carefully mix in sour cream and serve from pot.
