ITALIAN SAUSAGE DISH 1 lb. sweet or hot fresh Italian sausage 1/4 c. olive or salad oil 1 chopped onion 1 clove garlic, minced 1 can stewed tomatoes 1 can (2/3 c.) tomato paste 2 c. water salt, pepper 1 bay leaf sugar, allspice, oregano your favorite pasta Cut sausage into bite-sized chunks. Brown slowly in heavy pan. Pour off excess fat. Add oil; saute onion and garlic. Stir in stewed tomatoes, tomato paste, water, salt and pepper to taste, bay leaf and a dash each of sugar, allspice and oregano. Cover and simmer 1 to 2 hours. Toss in warm bowl with drained pasta and plenty of grated cheese.
