CHICKEN PAPRIKAS

1 onion, chopped
4 Tbsp. shortening
1 Tbsp. paprika
1 tsp. black pepper
2 Tbsp. salt
1 1/2 c. water
1/2 pt. sour cream
4 to 5 lb. chicken, disjointed
noodles (wide), cooked

Brown onion with shortening. Add seasoning and chicken;
brown 10 minutes. Add water; cover. Let simmer slowly until
tender. Remove chicken. Add sour cream; stir until all mixed
to drippings in pan.
For more gravy, add 1/2 pint sweet cream. Serve with
noodles.
