SHEPHERD'S PIE

1 to 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1 medium-sized onion, diced
1 (10 3/4 oz.) can tomato
soup, undiluted
1 (15 oz.) can cut green
beans, drained
salt and pepper to taste or
use Nature's Seasons
instant mashed potatoes, made
according to directions
1 egg
1/3 c. grated or shredded
Cheddar cheese

Brown hamburger and onion. Season with salt and pepper.
Add hamburger to a large mixing bowl. Add tomato soup and
green beans; mix gently. Place in a well greased deep Pyrex
casserole dish. Make instant mashed potatoes according to
directions; usually makes 8 servings. Add 1 egg (beaten) to
mashed potatoes. Top meat mixture with potatoes. Top that
with shredded cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.
