TORTILLA LAYERED PIE

1 lb. ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 Tbsp. butter
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 Tbsp. chili powder
1 (2 1/4 oz.) can ripe olives,
sliced
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
3 c. Cheddar cheese, shredded
1/2 c. water
6 corn tortillas (standard
size), buttered

Brown meat with onion and garlic in butter. Add season-
ings, olives and tomato sauce. In a round 2-quart casserole,
alternate layers of tortillas, meat sauce plus 2 1/2 cups
cheese. Sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup cheese on top. Pour water
at edge of casserole. Cover and bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes.
Remove cover and let stand 5 minutes before cutting. Serves 4.
